JUPITER, FL – March 27, 2018 – The Cultural Council of Palm Beach County 2018 Muse Awards attracted an A-list audience on Thursday evening at the Kravis Center, raising more than $200,000 for arts and education. Individuals in the community came to mingle and honor local artists, performers, and organizations who have contributed to the arts and culture in Palm Beach County. Hosted by The Cultural Council of Palm Beach, The Muse Awards is the biggest event of the season for arts and culture in The Palm Beaches that takes place every two years where they hold a stand out awards show and dinner. This year more than $200,000 was raised for arts and education.
The theme of the 2018 Muse Awards was “Arts and Culture Transform Communities,” celebrating the important role that art and culture plays in education, community development and quality of life in Palm Beach County. The evening marked the 40th anniversary of the Cultural Council, which has been a major force in promoting and supporting the arts in The Palm Beaches since 1978. A special surprise honor was part of the festivities for Cultural Council founder Alexander Dreyfoos, whose birthday coincided with the 2018 Muse Awards.
VIPs in attendance included Honorary Chairpersons Alex and Renate Dreyfoos, 2018 Muse Grand Benefactor Chair Roe Green, and Co-Chairs George Elmore and Marti LaTour, Nathan and Julie Slack, Judy and J. John Goodman, M.D., and Kathryn and Leo Vecellio.
The 2018 Muse Award Recipients are:

· Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion: Young Singers of The Palm Beaches (Belle Glade and West Palm Beach)
· Outstanding Art in Public Places: CANVAS Art Charities (West Palm Beach/Lake Worth)
· Outstanding School Committed to Arts Integration: Milagro Center (Delray Beach)
· Outstanding Business Arts Partner: PNC Bank
· Liman Excellence in Arts Education: Boca Raton Museum of Art (Boca Raton)
· The Legacy Award - Organization: Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens (Delray Beach)
· The Legacy Award - Individual: Judy Goodman
Roe Green of the Roe Green Foundation was the Grand Benefactor of the 2018 Muse Awards. PNC Arts Alive generously served as Premier Benefactor of the 2018 Muse Awards.
