Adopt-A-Family of the Palm Beaches Raised Exponential Amounts for Those In Need

PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL – June 6, 2017 – It was a memorable day on the greens as Adopt-A-Family of the Palm Beaches hosted their 6th Annual Better Ball Golf Tournament. The eventtook place on May 4, 2017 at the nationally recognized Dye Preserve Golf Club in Jupiter.

100 players enjoyed an afternoon of lunch, 18 holes of golf, mouth-watering hors d'oeuvres, and an award ceremony to wrap up the festivities. Taking home the top honors (and plenty of bragging rights) were Ken Carl and Cory Clement.

Congratulations to the tournament committee—Jeff Preston, Sean Bresnan, Frank Bresnan, Thomas Frankel, Gary Pohrer, Joe Carron, Joe LaRocca Jr., and Ned Grace for organizing such a successful event! Thanks to the support of the players, and tournament sponsors, more than $145,000 was raised to support programs that provide housing, rental assistance, and supportiveservices to families experiencing homelessness and families at risk of being homeless.

We couldn’t do this without the incredible support of our golf committee and donors. I am grateful for all they do for our organization.”

In its 34 years, Adopt-A-Family of the Palm Beaches has garnered local, state, and national recognition for its innovative programming, outcomes, and provision of supportive services. Last year Adopt-A-Family provided services to more than 2,000 families, including either directly ending or preventing episodes of homelessness for 635 families in Palm Beach County. In 2016, the organization received its 10th consecutive four-star rating by Charity Navigator, a significant achievement that less than 1% ofnonprofit organizations nationwide accomplish.
