The Armory Art Center will be holding their 3rd Annual West Palm Beach Arts Festival this December, featuring an eclectic mix of local and out-of-town artists. The festival is held outdoors in the Armory Sculpture Garden, where there will be 90 tents packed full of diverse arts and crafts, making holiday shopping both interesting and exciting. There will also be an opportunity to watch various demonstrations like jewelry making, painting and pottery. Various gallery talks will be held in the studio buildings and there will be numerous activities for all age groups.

The festival will have an array of live music including jazz, bag pipes, alternative, and even a British brass band, which will certainly get the crowds in a festive mood. There will also be a large collection of culinary food trucks serving scrumptious cuisine to satisfy the hungriest of appetites and don’t forget to look out for the beer for sale!

Tom Pearson, Executive Director of The Armory Art Center, explains what makes the West Palm Beach Art Festival so unique. “We are the only juried art show in the city of West Palm Beach, with artists’ work having to pass a panel of judges before they are invited to the show.”

Artists as far away as Quebec, Colorado, and New York, alongside locals from Palm Beach, attend the festival to sell their art work. Tom emphasizes, “We have great quality artwork that is affordable, and we don’t want to go over a certain price point. We want to make sure people can come and buy their holiday gifts. We’re not talking about fine art auction pieces, instead it’s about quality at a good price. There is nothing over two thousand dollars at this festival.” There will be a good balance comprising of jewelry, ceramics, sculpture, drawing, painting, and photography.

Tom sets the scene, “Throughout the garden, we have sidewalks lined with tents, so it’s a good day to stroll through the garden, listen to some music, and have a great day out, all for free.”

Situated on the south end of Howard Park, The Armory Arts Center is within walking distance of the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts, the Palm Beach Convention Center, Hilton West Palm Beach, and City Place. The West Palm Beach Arts Festival is a free event taking place on Saturday, December 1st and Sunday, December 2nd, from 10 AM – 5 PM.

Be sure to attend this wonderful festival because there really is something for everyone.  •
