JUPITER, FL – March 5, 2018 – Without question, our Town of Jupiter has become one of the most desirable and alluring locations in the country to move to, retire, and visit. But as Jupiter grows, so does the responsibility to protect our town’s character and charm. Peter Robbins, a resident who sits on the Jupiter Planning and Zoning Commission, states the following considerations as crucial components to execute a balanced growth plan.
PROTECTING GREEN SPACE:
We need to protect our natural areas, especially our parks and green space. Development is going to occur over time, but we have to ensure we’re fighting for open space for the public to enjoy.
WATERFRONT DEVELOPMENT:
We have to balance development with protecting our signature waterfront area. Jupiter’s waterfront is postcard-worthy, and we need to make sure we keep it that way.
APPROVING THE RIGHT PROJECTS:
It is up to our commissioners to take a reasonable and thoughtful approach and judge a project on its merits. It is also important to ask the “what if” questions to make sure the people of Jupiter are getting the best projects possible.
