PALM BEACH, FL – December 8, 2017 – For Carissa and Nicholas Coniglio, chairing the 2018 Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) WILD Black-Tie Gala is about more than creating a fantastic event for an important cause. It’s personal.
The couple’s involvement with LLS began seven years ago after a close friend was diagnosed with a blood cancer. That friend was ultimately cured with the help of research directly funded by LLS.
Their personal connection—and their compassion for helping others—is why the Coniglios and their committee are pulling out all the stops to make the WILD gala on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at The Breakers Palm Beach the most successful yet. Guests will experience a magical atmosphere with painted animal models strutting through cocktail hour in thecourtyard, a tribal dance performance, gourmet dinner, ultra-exclusive silent auction items, and live music by “The Clique,” all to support LLS’s mission to find cures for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life for patients and families in Palm Beach County.
“Carissa and I saw for ourselves how a life was saved thanks to LLS,” said Nicholas Coniglio. “Since we became part of the LLS family through the survival of a close friend, we have been passionate supporters and feel incredibly honored to chair this year’s gala. With our committee’s enthusiastic support, we know it will be wildly fun and successful as we raise money for the organization that will one day find a cure.”
Nicholas is a partner of E.R. Bradley’s Saloon and co-founder of Cucina, 123 Datura and the Island Bee. In addition to supporting LLS, Nicholas is a member of several philanthropic committees and local boards working to improve schools, bolster the police department and enrich the community. He is also a member of the Palm Beach Recreation Advisory Commission where he works to preserve and improve recreational programs, facilities, and parks in the Town of Palm Beach.
Carissa is a Florida Realtor Associate with Tina Fanjul Associates. She holds degrees from Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business and Nova Southeastern University law school, where she graduated with a J.D. in 2011.
Both Carissa and Nicholas work hard balancing careers, family and personal lives along with their philanthropic commitments. They reside in the north end of Palm Beach with their four children, Nicholas (7), Frank (6), Andres (3) and Catarina (1).
WILD gala festivities kick off at 7:00 p.m. with tickets selling for $700, and a special junior price of $450 for 40 and under. Proceeds will support research, advocacy, and local patient support, as LLS strives towards a world without blood cancers.
Sponsors include: Grand Benefactor- Lighthouse Partners, Diamond Benefactor – Kathryn & Leo Vecellio, Platinum Benefactors – Ethel & Bernard Garil, Tommy Morrison.
