JUPITER, FL – June 4, 2018 – Furry Friends Adoption, Clinic & Ranch, the Humane Society of Jupiter/Tequesta, invites the community to `saddle up’ and come on out to its Palm City ranch for a ‘rootin’ `tootin’ day of family fun and the chance to learn about its lifesaving mission to shelter and save animals. The event will be held on the newly rescheduled date with new times, `Ranch Round up,’ will take place 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, at the Furry Friends Ranch, 4841 SW Zarrella St., in Palm City. Admission is free; food vendors will be on-hand to serve up a country-style BBQ of pulled-pork, hamburgers, hotdogs, mac-n-cheese, and cornbread with all the fixin’s. Refreshing adult beverages and drinks that appeal to kids will also be available for purchase, at the `watering hole.’ Well-behaved dogs, leashed-only, accompanied by their two-legged family members, are invited to join in on the day’s fun.
Two country/pop artists headlining the day’s live music line-up are The Andrew Morris Band who will take the stage at 11 a.m., and the Tom Jackson Band, set to perform at 1 p.m.
Throughout the day, a variety of family-friendly activities are planned to entertain. Hay rides, a petting zoo, photos with `Woody’ and ‘Jessie,’ line dancing, a royal (doggie) wedding 12:30 p.m., and a `Dog-fun Zone,’ are among the festive offerings. The royal doggie wedding will feature Daisy, an American Shelter Mix and Oskar, an English Bulldog (mascot of South Fork High School) to take `bows,' in honor of Royals' ceremony.
Pat Deshong, President and CEO of Furry Friends planned the event at the ranch to shed light on the important role of the not-for-profit’s Furry Friends Ranch and the need for ongoing financial support from the community.
“Many people don’t know that our ranch exists,” said Deshong, of the beautiful, 27-acre property. “The ranch is the first-stop for the hundreds of loving animals that come into our care each year. It’s where they are welcomed, examined, receive medical treatment and accessed.”
A full-time staff member lives on the property to provide loving care and rehabilitative services to the animals. Some animals stay a short time at the ranch, and for others, it is their forever, nurturing home.
“Every animal deserves the right to live out the life they were born to live,” added Deshong.
Ranch Round-up sponsors, committed to helping make the event possible include: Land Rover Palm Beach, Merck Health, Jupiter Pet Emergency & Specialty Center, The Baum Family Animal Foundation, Keller Williams-Gretchen Teklinski, Speed Pro Imaging, Who’s the Boss Training, Tito’s Vodka, Rose Consulting, New Shoots Bamboo Nursery, Melissa Parker, Waste Management, and Palm City Chamber of Commerce. About Furry Friends Adoption, Clinic, & Ranch: The Humane Society of Greater Jupiter Tequesta serves the community as it’s only no-kill shelter open to the public in Northern Palm Beach County. We exist to care, shelter, and find homes for the thousands of animals that we rescue and house. Our Veterinary Clinic provides expert, affordable care for pets and no animals is ever turned away due to an owner’s inability to pay. A beautiful ranch, located in Martin County, provides a safe, nurturing haven and home for animals, sheltered and waiting for permanency. In 2016, we adopted 775 animals to families and this year we will surpass 1,100. We are overjoyed to see ‘furry tales’ come true and invite you to visit us and explore the idea of pet adoption.
