Jonathan Levy Celebrates 20-Year Milestone Leading Personal Injury Law Firm Powerhouse

WEST PALM BEACH, FL – June 1, 2018 – It seems like just yesterday that I decided to look for my second job as an attorney, and that was over 20 years ago. My dreams of representing personal injury victims began as a political science student as an undergraduate at the University of Vermont. As a senior in the honors’ program, I had the difficult decision to work in the political arena or go to law school to advocate in a different setting. I am so pleased I chose law school. 

From there, I enrolled at the University of Wisconsin law school, close to my family in Milwaukee. While a law student, I got the amazing opportunity to work in one of the largest personal injury law firms in Milwaukee as a clerk. It was quite clear very quickly that choosing to represent victims of negligence would be an admirable and rewarding profession. 

Near graduation from law school, friends from college and others encouraged me to move to Florida to start my legal career. After finding a great mentor on the West Coast of Florida, and practicing as a litigator for injured victims, I rapidly learned my craft and had the tremendous desire to handle cases as a first chair in the courtroom, and begin the meaningful work of helping those who cannot represent themselves against big businesses and the insurance industry. 

The day finally came. After researching hundreds of law firms in South Florida, I applied to the firm, which was then named Rosenthal and Weissman. The firm’s reputation was that of the largest Workers’ Compensation firm in the state. My job was to expand the personal injury practice where I was the first full-time personal injury lawyer hired in firm history. 

Over the next 20 years, I had the privilege of representing thousands of clients and families in South Florida. My dreams came true, and I expanded the firm’s personal injury practice tremendously. The firm’s reputation has grown, and we are now known as a highly skilled personal injury firm, handling many significant and important cases. 

Upon reflection, I could not be more grateful and pleased with our firm’s practices. We now have five personal injury attorneys in addition to our six other Workers’ Compensation and Social Security attorneys. It is so rewarding to know each day we are fighting for the men and women who could never stand up to big corporations or insurance companies without our help.  

After 20 years, all I can say is thank you to all who have given me the honor of representing you, and to all my colleagues with whom I have been fortunate to work. I eagerly await and relish the next 20 years plus, fighting for the injured.
