JUPITER, FL – July 20. 2017 – Jupiter’s Sullivan Smith represented the town and the Jupiter-Tequesta Athletic Association (JTAA) at National Finals the Scotts® Major League Baseball’s (MLB) Pitch, Hit and Run (PHR), which was held last July at Marlins Park in Miami, Florida during All-Star Week. Sullivan Smith made it to the finals in Miami and came in first place for the 9-10-year-old age group. Sullivan was one of 24 kids to make it to the finals. More than 625,000 kids, from all over the country, participated in the PHR competition.
According to JTAA Baseball’s Director of Communications Larry Goldstick the JTAA starting hosting the local PHR competition last year to provide members of JTAA and the surrounding area a chance to compete and make it to the National Finals at the All-Star Game. A chance that young Sullivan made his own.
