Jupiter Medical Center Recognized With "Most Wired Hospital" Award

Jupiter Medical Center Recognized With "Most Wired Hospital" Award
JUPITER, FL – August 9, 2017—In recognition of its continued progress in expanding its digital footprint, Jupiter Medical Center received the “Most Wired Hospital” award for the fourth consecutive year. Presented by Hospital and Health Networks (H&HN), the award recognizes hospitals that are making the most progress in the adoption of health information technology (IT), resulting in lower readmission rates and a higher standard of patient care. Jupiter Medical Center received the award based on its showing in the 19th Annual Health Care’s Most Wired® survey, released by the American Hospital Association’s (AHA) Health Forum.

The award, which measures the amount of IT integration in health care facilities across the United States, was once again presented to Jupiter Medical Center for advancement in IT infrastructure; business and administrative management; clinical quality and safety; and clinical integration.

“This fourth consecutive award is further testament to Jupiter Medical Center’s commitment to staying on the cutting-edge of health care advancements,” said John Couris, president and CEO of Jupiter Medical Center. “Our standards are higher and it shows.”

“The Most Wired hospitals are using every available technology option to create more ways to reach their patients in order to provide access to care,” said Rick Pollack, AHA president and CEO. “They are transforming care delivery and investing in new delivery models in order to improve quality, provide access and control costs.”

The acknowledgment of Jupiter Medical Center’s health IT proficiencies with the Most Wired award demonstrates its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of health care for all community members in the South Florida region.

“New technology becomes available every year, and it's an opportunity for us to adapt and, as a result, further enhance patient care and safety,” said Tom Crawford, vice president and CIO of Jupiter Medical Center. “This year, we focused on initiatives like interoperability and efficiencies in technology by upgrading our wireless technology to increase the speed and ease of use of our electronic medical record system. We also recently launched Care Anywhere, a new telehealth program that enables patients to receive urgent medical care whenever and wherever they need it by going online for a virtual consultation with a member of our health care team.”

HealthCare’s Most Wired survey, conducted between January 15 and March 15, 2017, is published annually by Hospitals & Health Networks (H&HN). The 2017 Most Wired survey and benchmarking study is a leading industry barometer measuring IT use and adoption among hospitals nationwide. The survey of 698 participants, representing an estimated 2,158 hospitals — more than 39 percent of all hospitals in the U.S. — examines how organizations are leveraging IT to improve performance for value-based health care in the areas of infrastructure; business and administrative management; quality and safety; and clinical integration.
