Jupiter’s Newest DIY Workshop, Hammer and Stain Palm Beaches, To Open In June

JUPITER, FL – June 20, 2018 – Jupiter’s newest, and much anticipated, DIY workshop, Hammer and Stain Palm Beaches is located in the Driftwood Plaza on US1. It is the perfect place to go for a ladies night out or for a day of family fun. Hammer and Stain is an exciting place to personalize, paint, and participate in transforming a raw piece of wood from plain to perfect.

Ami Muncy, owner of Hammer and Stain Palm Beaches, in an interview, explains what motivated her to offer an exciting and creative experience in a DIY workshop.

So, tell us about your journey to owning Hammer and Stain Palm Beaches?

"I took my first wood and paint class in 2017 and it completely changed my life. I had been experiencing high levels of stress both professionally and personally, and I was looking for a creative outlet. I just happened upon the idea after seeing a picture of the class on Facebook. The workshop was an amazingly different experience for me. By creating a piece from beginning to end, I felt truly empowered. Plus I got to experience it in an environment with other people who love to create as much as I do. It was different than doing my crafting at home. It was exponentially better!"

What made it better?

"I've often wondered why women don't have more hobbies outside of the home. We spend so much time taking care of the family and sometimes we lose ourselves in that process. Hammer and Stain Palm Beaches gives women a hobby - it gives us a space to tap into our creative sides outside of the home. And what's even better is that you can come alone, with friends, or even bring a family member to share in your joy of creating!"

Do you have to be crafty to go to your workshops?

"Absolutely not!! That's the best part of it all! Novice or expert - everyone is welcome!! We all end up working together so you can all learn from each other. It's not necessarily about the piece - it's about the experience!"

There are several "paint and sip" studios in the area, why Hammer and Stain?

"Hammer and Stain is unique in that we are not a franchise and are independently owned. This allows me complete creative freedom and the ability to offer projects that meet the specific desires of my guests in South Florida. We also offer the most variety in project offerings of any other DIY studio in the U.S. - we have everything from single wood planks to shiplap signs to porch planters and beverage tables. I continue to work on new designs and concepts regularly. I never want our designs to feel stale - they should always feel fresh, new, and exciting!"

What do you want others to know about you?

"I grew up in Jupiter - went to Jupiter High School and then went to undergrad at UF, but I've been living in Dallas for the past 16 years raising a family and practicing audiology. Moving back home to Jupiter and opening up Hammer and Stain is a dream come true. I feel so grateful to be able to do what I love every single day. I love it all - from picking out the lumber, cutting the wood into pieces, designing the artwork, setting up the workshop, and even sweeping up the messes. It's crazy to think that a year ago I'd never even heard of wood and paint classes, whereas today I'm actually running one. There's this quote I saw and it rings very true for me today...
"We all have two lives. The second one starts when we realize that we only have one." Let's just say I'm living my second life now."

The grand opening of Hammer and Stain Palm Beaches will be on June 23, 2018 and will be open during scheduled workshops only. Check the website for the most up-to-date schedule: www.hammerandstainpalmbeaches.com.
