Tiger Woods has made multiple appearances on Jimmy Fallon’s late night shows over the years, and on Tuesday Fallon returned the favor by taking the stage at Tiger’s “show.”
The “show” we’re talking about is the first annual Nexus Cup, which Tiger is hosting. The Nexus Cup styles itself as “the ultimate amateur golf experience,” in which high-rollers compete in an ultra-exclusive amateur event at Liberty National in New Jersey. According to the official website, the event features 18 foursomes and “combines two days of team competition with curated gifts, exquisite cuisine, fine wine and more including exciting evening festivities at Nexus Club New York,” all in support of Tiger’s TGR Foundation.
Tuesday night at the Nexus Club featured an extra special experience thanks to Fallon. Fallon took the stage in front of the tournament guests and interviewed Woods. Woods tweeted out two photos of the interview afterward. The Tonight Show host was dressed casually with a blue blazer, while Tiger went with something a little more eye-catching: his Masters green jacket.
In the tweet, Tiger wrote, “What a fun night with @jimmyfallon at the #NEXUSCup. Thanks for bringing an unplugged version of The Tonight Show to our guests in support of @TGRFound.
We don’t know what questions Fallon asked Woods during the “uncensored” event given its very private nature, so you’ll have to use your imagination. What we do know is how the two have interacted in the public, televised version of the Tonight Show.
In 2014, Woods made a joint Tonight Show appearance with Rory McIlroy to promote a new set of Nike irons (RIP). The golfers traded jabs with each other before Tiger coached Fallon in a chipping contest with McIlroy.
Back in 2009, Fallon had Woods on his Late Night show in an infamous appearance in which Fallon beat Woods in a live Tiger Woods PGA Tour match in Times Square.
Woods, who is recovering from a recent knee surgery, is expected to begin his 2019-2020 PGA Tour season at the inaugural Zozo Championship in Japan next month.
