Lip Smacking Wines For Valentine's

JUPITER, FL – February 8, 2021 – With Valentine's Day, right around the corner, the InFlorida team willingly sampled and picked the best wines picks for you and your loved one to share on the romantic holiday.

Lucien Albrecht Crémant d’Alsace Brut Rosé

Grape Variety: 100 % pinot Noir

ABV: 12.5 %

Price: $19

–––

This Rosé just bubbles with excitement, like a firework of pinkness sparkling on the taste buds. Made in the traditional method with 100% Pinot Noir grapes, this Brut has an abundance of high-quality flavors like ripe strawberry and cherrypie, parceled in a bed of herbs, complemented with bright acidity with a creamy, satisfying finish. All of the above is delivered at a great price point. Known as the pioneer of sparkling wine production in Alsace, Lucien Albrecht’s knowledge and quality pack in the flavor and experience into a wine that is truly pleasing.

We popped a strawberry into a flute glass and delicately sipped on these bubbles while gorging ourselves on some decadent chocolate ganache cake from Ganache Bakery in Palm Beach, FL.

Indigené Cellars Ambiente Blend

Grape Variety: Malbec and Merlot

ABV:14%

Year: 2016

PRICE: $35

–––

This red incapsulates the best attributes of a Paso Robles California Central Coast red, with just a hint of an Italian Tuscan blend. This medium bodied red is mouth bursting, with decadent flavors working in unison like a perfectly performed waltz, changing partners every time a new flavor is introduced. The plump cherry flirts with fresh figs and changes partners to lie in a bed of freshly cut grass, scattered with wildflowers. There is a vibrant acidity which is not overpowering, but it enters at the right moment to curtsy at the end of the waltz with a complex basket of tannins and a welcoming aftertaste.

This significant Sangiovese-dominant blend is superb alongside fresh pasta. The InFlorida team enjoyed a truffle infused fresh tagliatelle with speck (cured ham) and asparagus, guaranteed to warm the depths of you and your partners hearts.

Domaine du Mistral Grignan-les-Adhémar Rouge

Grape Variety: Grenache, Mourvédre, Syrah, Consult, Carignan

ABV: 15%

Year: 2018

Price: $13

–––

This red blend, from the Rhône Valley, is ideal for celebrating Valentine’s Day. It’s a light-medium bodied, uncomplicated, yet effortlessly pleasing wine. It’s perfect for those who shy away from the more full-bodied reds. In short, drinking this wine alongside a steak is not necessary, although this wine would accompany any kind of meat. The notes are smooth yet dry with plum, raspberry, red currants, spices and a hint of leather. Cozy-up with your loved one, crack open a bottle and eat whatever the heck you want. This wine is so versatile it even went well with a romantic movie and a large bowl of buttered popcorn.

White wine – Castoro Cellars Oakenshield Balena

Grape Variety: Grenache Blanc, Pinot Gris and Viognier

ABV: 13%

Year: 2018

PRICE: $30

––––

This sprightly organic white wine blend from Paso Robles, is the perfect white to complement the sunshine soaked state of Florida. Its nose is a naked pear, dipped in a honey glaze followed by a rather scrumptious taste of mango, pineapple and guava.

Like Florida, Paso Robles', CA has a warm climate and it too has those coastal influences like a cool salty sea breeze. Paso Robles wines have a reputation of having a medium to high price point for around $30 and in our opinion that is worth every penny for this tropical tasting beauty.

Start your Valentine’s Day early, head to the nearest beach with a bottle of this beauty, a picnic of cured meats and creamy chesses, which we purchased from Carmine's Gourmet Market in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Relax and indulge in this decadent wine.

French Blue

Grape Variety: Sauvignon Blanc

ABV: 12 %

Year: 2019

Price: $14

–––

This limited release white wine hails from the Entire Deux Mer region of Bordeaux vineyards. A lemon tart enters on the first sip, then in strolls the plump and rather cheeky gooseberry. Not to outstay their welcome, the gooseberry leaves and in walks the juicy kiwi, followed by a sweet unassuming round peach. This multilayered wine revealed a serendipity in every sip. The aromas will transport you to the hillsides of Bordeaux, France without having to leave your sofa. Virtual traveling through your taste buds during these unprecedented times is an added advantage to this endearing wine.

Grab a couple of bottles, steam up some garlic buttered mussels (don’t forget to add a generous splash of French Blue), a side of rustic bread with lashings of creamy butter and “voilà,” an easy breezy, let’s get refreshed and incredibly fruity this Valentine’s Day!
