JUNO BEACH, FL – August 8, 2023 – Loggerhead Marinelife Center (LMC) is seeking locals − new and longtime − who are passionate about marine life and ocean conservation! With a newly expanded campus, the Center has opened up more volunteer positions to the community. Volunteers at LMC play an active role in sea turtle recovery, as well as ocean conservation and education.
The Center offers a variety of positions such as assisting with animal care in the hospital, sharing ocean education with daily visitors, and providing customer assistance in the gift store. Volunteer positions with the greatest need are Hospital Interpreters and Exhibit Interpreters. Hospital Interpreters educate guests about LMC’s current sea turtle patients throughout their recovery in the Outdoor Sea Turtle Hospital. Exhibit Interpreters provide visitors with information about the Center’s coastal ecosystem exhibits and native resident animals, digital, and static exhibits throughout the facility. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old and work a minimum four-hour shift once a week over the course of six months or longer.

Applicants will be contacted about open positions, with additional training provided within the first few shifts. Certain positions may require applicants to be a minimum of 18 years old. Seasonal and short-term internships and volunteer positions are available in several mission-serving areas.
About Loggerhead Marinelife Center (LMC)
Loggerhead Marinelife Center, located in Loggerhead Park, Juno Beach, Fla., is a sea turtle research, rehabilitation, education, and conservation center. The Center also manages the Juno Beach Pier across the street from the park. Established in 1983, LMC seeks to promote conservation of ocean ecosystems with a special focus on threatened and endangered sea turtles. Its facilities include a sea turtle hospital, a research laboratory, and exhibit areas, including live sea turtles and other coastal creatures.
