New at the Zoo

WEST PALM BEACH, FL – June 27, 2018 – There’s a new queen of the jungle, and her name is Margo McKnight. Nearly five months after the head of the Palm Beach Zoo resigned, long-time animal conservationist and Florida-native McKnight stepped into her new role as President and CEO on May 21, 2018. 

As the former senior vice president of conservation at the Florida Aquarium in Tampa, she is eager to put her 40 years of experience into the continuation of the zoo’s success, as well as take it to new heights. 

“This is a great opportunity to create a zoo of the future! Now is the time to look at our mission and vision and build for the Palm Beach community,” says Margo. “We have plans that will provide a great experience for everyone. I want visitors to be transported into the wild and connect with the zoo, as well as become educated on the animals and the environment.”
