New Zealand Reggae Roots Band Katchafire’s Legacy Tour Is Coming To Guanabanas

JUPITER, FL – June 11, 2018 – Katchfire, one of New Zealand’s most popular touring reggae / roots acts, have quickly become a favorite among the genre’s fans stateside. They are celebrating the release of their latest set called Legacy with a seven-state summer tour, bringing them to Guanabanas Island Restaurant & Bar Friday, June 15, 2018. The venue is located at 960 N Hwy A1A, Jupiter, FL 333477. Special guests E.N Young & Imperial Sound and EarthKry open the evening at 7 p.m. No cover, 21 and over welcome.
 
“Katchafire just lit this place up last time they came through in March of 2017,” says Guanabanas talent buyer Matt Cahur. “We expect another white-hot show and are looking forward to their return.” Cahur founded and runs RootsMusic, Inc., a Jupiter-based music promotions company active for two decade plus. He also manages live music bookings at Guanabanas and serves as the venue’s lead sound engineer.

Katchafire formed in 1997 as a Bob Marley Tribute band in Hamilton, Aoteoroa, New Zealand. The all Maori reggae band members include father and lead guitarist Grenville Bell, son / lead singer Logan Bell, and son / drummer / singer / songwriter Jordan Bell. The band has opened for such reggae legends  Damien Marley, Steel Pulse, UB40, The Wailers, Spearhead and others. Staples on the California and Pacific roots scents, Katchafire have performed at Glastonbury, and numerous festivals throughout Europe and Brazil.
 
The new release, which debuted at #1 on the U.S. iTunes Reggae chart and got as high as #5 on the Amazon Best Seller reggae list, features exciting and fresh messages of love, hope, togetherness, and family. The 12 tracks on this album were recorded in numerous studios around the world, from New Zealandand Australia, to L.A. and Hawaii, to Jamaica, featuring collaborations with some of reggae’s finest. The Legacy cover art is titled “War Canoes of the New Zealand Maori”, created by Hawaiian artist Herb Kane.
 
Born Ian Allan Young and raised near the U.S. / Mexico border in San Diego, CA, E.N Young began playing the piano at age six. He switched to drums at age 12 as a result of an arm injury, and began performing and touring by age 15. He’s also a studio owner (Imperial Sound Recording Studio) and record producer, having worked on tracks for artists such as Gonzo, LeilaniWolfgramm, Tatanka, Mystic Roots Band, Clear Conscience, Revival, Animo, Inna Vision and Skanks Roots. His latest release Call on Me debuted at #3 on the iTunes reggae chart.
 
EarthKry hail from Jamaica and feature former Edna Manley College of theVisual & Performing Arts in Kingston students Phillip Mcfarlane (keyboards), drummer Kieron Cunningham, bass guitarist Kamardo Blake and vocalist/guitarist Aldayne Haughton. Inspired by Bob Marley and TheWailers, The Beatles, John Holt, Peter Tosh, Jacob Miller, Black Uhuru and Steel Pulse, the group had cemented a wholesome fusion of roots reggae, souls and rock genres into a fresh but universal sound.
