Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League Launches New Program for Military Personnel-Pet’s for Heroes

PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (November 9, 2018) Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League is pleased to announced the launch of a new adoption program that recognizes the sacrifices of our military personnel beginning this Veteran’s Day (November 11, 2018).

Pet’s for Heroes is a program which honors those who are currently serving or have served in the United States military an opportunity to adopt any dog or cat at Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League with no cost. All adoption fees are waived (not including county license tag) and all new pet parents receive complimentary benefits including a training crate or carrier, bed, litter box, scratching post, collar/harness, leash, enrichment toy, water and food bowls, Hill’s Pet Nutrition starter bag of food, 30-days of free pet insurance and an ID tag. Our nation’s heroes will also receive for their newly adopted pet, free yearly veterinarian exams at the League, free training classes, and access to Behavior Helpline for life of the pet. They also will receive a 20 percent lifetime discount on heartworm testing, heartworm/flea/tick preventatives, wellness services and a 20 percent lifetime discount in the Shaggy Shop boutique located at Peggy Adams.  

Military personal currently on Active Duty must provide Peggy Adams with a copy of their current original orders or Common Access Card (CAC Card). Veterans, Retired, or Inactive (Character of Service must be Honorable) military personal must show their DD214, DD256 or NGB-22. All military personal looking to adopt are subject to the League’s basic requirements for adoption.

Ronald Rodd, a Peggy Adams Call Center employee and a Gulf War Veteran, doesn’t know what he’d do without his service dog Nellie. “She’s with me 24 hours a day,” he says. “I have balance issues and if I fall down, Nellie helps me get up and is a constant support for me.”
