PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – July 26, 2018 - It’s the thick of summer, but soon school bells will signal students’ return to the classroom. And PGA Commons wants to help them have a successful year.
Many young children in our community can’t afford school supplies when they return to school. PGA Commons is kicking off “Give Back, Get Back,” where shoppers can donate school materials and get something for themselves. Beginning Monday, July 30 through Sunday, August 5, customers can donate back-to-school items and receive 10% off a purchase made that day in select stores and restaurants. Participants include The Tux Shop, Bamboo Clothiers, T is for Table, New Beginnings, Onessimo Fine Art, Studio E Gallery, Vic & Angelo’s, Prosecco Café, and Menchie’s.
The drive welcomes the following new, unopened supplies: glue sticks or small bottles of school glue, boxed tissues, washable markers, crayons, construction paper, tempera and watercolor paints, paintbrushes, child safety scissors, and pipe cleaners. Additional items for kids entering kindergarten include No. 2 pencils, colored pencils, pencil sharpeners, pencil cases, notebook paper, and spiral notebooks. Needed supplies also cover hand sanitizer, erasers, pocket folders, and composition books, as well as highlighters, backpacks, rulers, index cards, and three-ring binders.
“PGA Commons is comprised mainly of locally owned businesses,” said Rhea Slinger, director of marketing. “We know how community support can fuel a mission and the people it aims to help. That’s why we’re thrilled to support the children at Opportunity Early Childhood Education & Family Center.”
Opportunity Early Childhood Education & Family Center is Palm Beach’s oldest children’s charity. The nonprofit provides educational programs for under-resourced children. It’s a win-win all around when you shop, support, and save! Stop by PGA Commons and make your donation to help children in our community.
