JUPITER, FL – December 12, 2017 – Last week on Monday December 4, 2017, Big Dog Ranch Rescue (BDRR), the largest no-kill, cage free animal rescue in the United States, held their fifth annual “Golf with the Big Dogs Tournament” at Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter. 10 touring pro golfers were paired with 40 amateurs to compete for top honors, each driven by the individual passion to help the four-legged friends. The foursomes played 18 holes, celebrated the cause, and attended a luncheon and awards ceremony after the match.
Pro Golfer, Jamie Lovemark, states, “This is my third time doing this event. I’ve always had a passion for dogs, and Big Dog Ranch Rescue supports such an amazing cause. My wife is on the board of BDRR and we even adopted a dog from them this year. The tournament is a great way to give back to the local community.”

Kegan Bradley, fellow pro golfer, agrees, “The Big Dog Ranch Rescue does incredible things for the community and animals, and it is a cause I am proud to be a part of.”

The exclusive golf experience event was held to raise funds to benefit BDRR as they have been in the works of building their new 33-acre state-of-the art facility in Loxahatchee, Florida. The rescue, dubbed the “Disney for Dogs and Animal Lovers,” rescues, treats, and houses homeless and abused animals, saving more than 23,000 dogs to date.
Founder and President of BDRR, Lauree Simmons, says, “This incredible event brings sports and saving lives together, while spreading awareness for our cause. For everyone who is involved, not only does it provide a positive experience, but we, in turn, are able to save another life.”

With the facility three fourths of the way done, BDRR plans to have the vet clinic completed by March, and with donations from Rachael Ray Nutrish, the puppy land is scheduled to be finished by the end of February 2018. For those who support saving lives and making national strides, BDRR welcomes anyone who wishes to donate and leave a legacy.
