The Jupiter Lighthouse Will Be Able to Tag Along Your Vehicle

JUPITER, FL - July 19, 2019 - The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse will be hitting the road this summer.

Beginning Aug. 1, fans of the lighthouse will able to get a specialty license plate called “Visit Our Lights” that features an image of the South Florida landmark.

Built in 1860, the lighthouse — which has views of the Loxahatchee River, Atlantic Ocean and Jupiter — towers 108 feet high and has 105 steps to climb.

Fun fact: The lighthouse was recently featured on ABC’s “The Bachelorette” when Jupiter native Tyler Cameron showed Hannah Brown around town. Located at 500 Captain Armour’s Way, the lighthouse has been a popular venue for marriage proposals, weddings and selfies.

The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum was featured in the July 8 episode of ABC's "The Bachelorette" when Tyler Cameron showed Hannah Brown around his hometown.

First-time cost to replace your old tag with the lighthouse plate is $53, with $25 of that going to the Florida Lighthouse Association, the St. Petersburg-based nonprofit that protects and preserves the state’s remaining 29 lighthouses that dot the coastline.

Then the annual renewal fee will be $25 more than the driver’s usual renewal fees.

The Jupiter lighthouse joins more than 100 specialty plates in the state. In 2008, a plate featuring a Florida lighthouse was introduced to the program.
