JUPITER, FL – February 27, 2018 – When we think of spring, we tend to imagine nature flourishing and shaking off the grip of winter. Plants are blooming, the weather is crisp, and every day seems to be better than the last.
Many of us start the year off strong with personal commitments and good intentions, yet it can still be difficult to keep the momentum going as the months go on. Don’t fall into the trap of waiting for a certain season or special occasion to start taking care of your body. Being healthy is a year-round commitment and should always be at the top of your priority list.
A major contributor to weight gain and other health issues is an unhealthy diet. Clean eating refers to consuming whole foods that are minimally processed. Clean eating is your best bet for avoiding preservatives, GMOs, and other harmful additives. When you eat right, you feel right. You experience less bloating, your clothes fit better, and you have more energy throughout the day. Remember, what you put in your body is the fuel it runs on!
So how do we begin making this change to our daily routine? To avoid overwhelming yourself, start by taking baby steps. Cooking at home, prepping meals for the week, and shopping around the perimeter of the grocery store are just a few ways to get started. Be cautious of seemingly healthy condiments and dressings that can be full of unwanted calories and sugars. Always read the nutrition facts and ingredients on the back of an item and don’t settle for the too-good-to-be-true claims on the front of some packaging. Sometimes, keeping it simple is best; what matters most is finding what works best for you and your family.
