JUPITER, FL – March 16, 2018 – It’s less than two weeks until TurtleFest 2018: Together We Can! We are so excited to welcome over 10,000 guests to this free ocean conservation festival, happening on Saturday, March 24 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. If you’re coming, you’re probably already wondering how you’ll fit in all of the fun TurtleFest happenings into a few hours. Never fear – we’ve got you covered with our top reasons why we love T-Fest.
1. Food
What’s a party without food? At the 15th Annual TurtleFest, you’ll enjoy a wide variety of fare, from traditional foods like gyros and pizza to options such as bruschetta and veggie wraps. No matter what your choice, you’ll love all the goodies to snack on during your time at the fest.
2. Craft beer & specialty drinks
We could say more about this, but we think beer speaks for itself. Lagunitas is coming back as our fantasmical beer sponsor, with plenty of ale to go around. Don’t worry – if you don’t like beer, there are plenty of other options, including creative concoctions by Naked Turtle Rum!
3. Music
Yes, arguably one of the best parts about TurtleFest – besides saving the ocean. This year’s lineup? Bryce Allen Band, Del Pelson, The Helmsmen and Surfer Blood. Pretty rad right? In between sets, don’t forget to check out all the other great activities and happenings T-Fest has to offer!
4. Yoga
Need a breather in between the food and fun? We’ll be having a few yoga sessions throughout the day (taught by a certified instructor) so you can flow your way back to your 100 percent best before hitting up the next TurtleFest activity.
5. Beach cleanup
Before T-Fest officially begins at 10 a.m., join LMC staff and volunteers for a quick 60-minute beach cleanup to keep our local coastline clean and healthy. You’ll help us kick off the festival with the right perspective, and you’ll have a blast doing it!
6. Educational and fun kids’ activities
Education is in our DNA. That means that even at TurtleFest, we have a variety of educational programs and activities for the whole family! Kids can learn about our oceans and how they can help keep it blue and trash free! We also pride ourselves on offering something for everyone – from hands-on Jr. Vet Lab activities to conservation demonstrations and displays that even teach old dogs new “earth-friendly tricks.” Don’t forget to check out the all-new WaterVentures Florida’s Learning Lab, rock wall, bounce houses or maybe take a slide over the sea!
7. Partying by the sea
Did you know TurtleFest is Palm Beach County’s largest ocean conservation festival? We love that. Not only are we the largest ocean conservation festival – but we’re actually hosting the festival in Loggerhead Park (just behind LMC) right next to the beautiful Atlantic Ocean! That means gorgeous views, refreshing sea breezes and perfect selfie opportunities.
8. Local shopping & art
At TurtleFest, you’ll shop til’ you drop in our unique Vendor Row. Choose from dozens of local artisans that offer a variety of handcrafted gifts, from soy candles and handmade soaps to local jewelry and more. Also a part of our Vendor Row, you’ll enjoy shopping from dozens of local artists selling gorgeous photographs and paintings to hand-crafted pottery and more.
9. It’s free
Need we say more?
10. Social media
If you didn’t post a photo of your time at the Fest, did you even go? Capture (and share) all the perfect moments in LMC’s unique Conservation & Media Tent – plus you can even charge up your phone so you’ll never miss a beat on the social conversation.
11. Sea turtles
The pièce de résistance. Get a once in a lifetime experience to visit up close with Loggerhead Marinelife Center’s sick or injured sea turtle hospital patients. You’ll be so turtle-y in love that you’ll want to adopt one of the lovable patients! And guess what? You can do that.
